KERKSTRAAT 76

IN THE DANCING PEAT CARRIER

This 17th century house received a complete remake in 1935: the façade winds up from left to right and was built with a 30’s joint. The original plaque above the entrance was the deciding factor to purchase the house, since the clients gave a strong connection and history with peat. All aspects of construction have been addressed: foundation, walls, stairs, floors and complete outfitting. The upper floors of the house are furnished as a living space. The ground floor is an atelier and workplace, where art is made and displayed. The ground floor was enlarged with a small new extension in the back.
